Zebrafish IBD MODEL ( zebrafish model)
This is one of the first types of tropical fish that are kept in the aquarium, and it is still hugely popular. This beautiful and cheap fish is a great option for both beginners and advanced aquarists.
Other common names that are known are Zebrafish, Zebrafish, Striped Danio and Zebra Fish.
Dozens of variations of this Danio are selectively bred today, with a variety for all tastes. Some of the best known include the Longfin Zebra Danio and morph colors such as the Golden Zebrafish, the Albino Zebrafish, the Longfin Blue Danio and the Sandy Zebrafish.
Other well-known varieties are Leopard Danio and Longfin Leopard Danio, which have spots instead of stripes. There is also a variety called Hybrid Danio, for those who simply can not choose between points and stripes, which has a combination with both.
A recently introduced variety is a genome of zebrafish (Danio rerio) known as the “Glo fish”. This is a genetically modified small fish available in beautiful fluorescent colors of bright red, green, orange-yellow, blue and purple.
These tough and attractive cyprinids are ideal for beginners. They are prolific breeders and the easiest type of layers to raise. A school fish, should be kept in a small group of at least 3 people, although 5 or more is the best. Because they are very small, a school is suitable for a smaller aquarium of at least 75 liters. They can be accommodated with most of the fish in the community.
The zebrafish is very durable and can withstand an impressive range of temperature and water conditions. In general, they will do well without a water heater since they are comfortable at temperatures of up to 15 degrees C.
But even though you are not fussy about water conditions, it is best not to keep your aquarium at any extreme. Do not be surprised if the school spends a lot of time in the water flow of filters or pumps, since in nature they are accustomed to a fast moving environment.
Be careful that neither the samples of this zebrafish nor the fertilized eggs are released into the environment. The zebrafish is tropical and can not survive in areas with extreme weather conditions. They have been used to control mosquitoes and have invaded some environments.
