Dominic Hay, the Founder of the OutHustleYou Entrepreneurship Academy, was founded in 2017 as an online school to teach members the core elements of what it takes to truly be an entrepreneur. The offering is a combination of created lessons, worksheets and further resources executed by leveraging of mentors and business coaches in different industries, collectively agreeing to provide coaching and lessons via the online e-learning platform through video, live webinars and downloadable material.
Operating as a membership only academy, the start-up provides training to a community of subscribers on how to start and scale their business, covering a myriad of topics such as Product research, Marketing, Sales, Branding, Finance, Time Management and productivity whilst juggling a 9-5 and being a privy entrepreneur, Outsourcing, Branding and much more. Without setting limits to what is available, the OutHustleYou academy also offers alternative webinars in investment vehicles such as how to start your own car leasing/rental business, investing in property and how to start an amazon FBA business based on the success of mentors who are successful in these fields. These dedicated mentors are fundamentally teaching members how to start these forms of business to those in the membership community. The ethos of the founding members is that it’s easier to learn by doing the work with people who are actively doing it and being around actual people in specific fields of interest to become equally successful.
The initial training seminars include tutorials on how to grow your Instagram and turn it into a cash generating engine which was led by Franklin Boateng (@kingoftrainers) and Carli Jay (@misscarlijay_healthyliving), who are both Instagram influencers who have amassed over 100k of organic followers with sponsorship deals with the likes of JD Sports, Adidas & Boohoo. Some of the other online webinars included how to invest in property led by Dean Frost (Ex-Mentee of Rob Moore from Progressive Property) and how to sell led by Chris Newcombe, former Director at Barclays who had also been trained by Jordan Belfort whose character was depicted in the 2014 film, Wolf of Wallsteet.
At a cost of £15 a month with monthly and annual membership options available, members will receive exclusive, frequently released material as part of their subscription. Members subscribed to the dubbed ‘e-learning hustlers’ platform describe it as an “entrepreneurial learning centre sort of like a gym membership for your mind”, with testimonials expressing the fact that some of the concepts learned from the material had never been heard of or thought of before. In terms of success stories, the Out Hustle You Entrepreneurship Academy mentorship team has already impacted plenty students, with one of the students subscribed, Mark Boateng managing to leave his full-time career and starting & scaling his creative agency based on the support received. Mark’s brand ‘Mobcreates’ provides professional video editing, logo creation and image design. Mark’s feedback on the Academy has been that “the value of having mentors really is based on the ability they have of being able to see the challenges and potential scalability obstacles of a business and the fact mentors can help navigate the course to their destination.”
With around 40% of UK working class now having a side “hustle”, there is currently a strong belief that a lot of what was and still is taught in schools has not been adapted to the skills needed in the modern-day world. The OutHustleYou Entrepreneurship Academy aims to target millennials who want to start & scale their business, with learning ideas through mentorship & support from people actually making moves they want to make for not just an additional income stream but also for networking opportunities.
Each and every month fresh content is released to members in the members only portal and if you are a new member you are still able to login via the online platform and access material in stages from previous months to connect with the right mentors, learn and benefit from the value based material put together by the mentors and industry experts the OutHustleYou Academy has partnered with.
The start-up has plans to create masterclasses in and around London over the summer, including regular networking events starting in June and throughout the year, allowing the dedicated mentors to teach skills on how they became entrepreneurs giving others an opportunity to learn & network with community members. OutHustleYou allows members to upskill themselves, create a new income stream and improve their mindset by learning from industry experts on a month to month basis. The OutHustleYou Entrepreneurship Academy COO, Dexter Cross states that “the pressing issue we now have in our economy is that combining the current uncertainty with Brexit and the education system. A lot of millennials who have been interviewed feel let down, believing that the school curriculum has failed them, the system is outdated, too routine like and needs to be reformed and with political turmoil on the up a lot of the community members believe they need to secure their future by depending on themselves and building a legacy they can rely on for many years to come all achievable here at the OHY Entrepreneurship academy”.
