The tip size of this marker may vary from 0.01 to 1.   thehigher this number will be, the broader will be the tip of the marker. This type of markers has smooth characteristics and does not smile on the writing papers unless the writing medium is a sticky substance.

  • Coloring markers

As the name indicates, these markers are famous for coloring purposes. They are the most favorite choice of children because of their availability in a variety of colors. These markers are usually broader, and they are a little messy to use because when you exert slight pressure, these markers can cause smudging.

A single set of these markers has almost every color, so you do not need to buy any separate marker apart from the pack.

  • Chalkboard markers

Chalkboard markers are used instead of the regular chalk because they create less mess, on and around the board. They are available in neon colour range,  thesemarkers are light in colour,  giving a very pleasant effect on the blackboard.

Woodis the main constituent of chalkboards, and common markers do not work on it. The material of the boat can damage the tip of the markers. While if we talk about chalkboard markers, they are capable of performing on wooden material.

  • Paint markers

Paint markers are not as common as the other types. People use these on cars, trucks, and other automobiles to paint or write anything. It is also used on other hard surfaces and wet surfaces.  Only professionals use this type of markers.

  • Dry erase markers

Dry erase markers are among the most common type of markers used in classrooms or lecture halls.  You can also work this marker on whiteboards or any other surface, and when the ink dries, you can easily erase. In short, we can say that it is the opposite of permanent markers.

  • Alcohol-based markers

The ink of these markers is alcohol-based, making them easy to dry, but at the same time, they do not readily absorb to the paper. These markers are the fanciestand expensive markers inthe artistic world. They give a transparent effect to the paper, and most professionals use these markers.

Alcohol-based markers have two tips. The first tip is present at the back, having a flat surface. While the second tip is pointed, present at the front.

They are available in exquisite, attractive dark and light colors. You can make sketchesand do outlining with these markers. You should always avoid giving these markers to children because they are harmful.

  • Fabric markers

Fabric markers perform the same function as any other board marker; still, it is not so much popular. It is available in almost every stationery shop. After writing with it, when you wash the fabric, it does not smudge.

It is slightly expensive than other markers,and that is the main reason why people do not prefer it.

  • Washable markers

We all have kids in our houses who brings out their artist by writing on the walls, furniture, and on theirself. However, you do not need to get worried about it because these fantastic markers are available.

Until or unless these markers are not used on absorbable surfaces, you can easily wash them.You can use any mild detergent for cleaning walls, furniture, and clothes.

  • Water-based markers

These markers consist of water or glycerine asa solvent, which makes them odorless and a safe choice for children use. They are waterproof, readily absorbable, and dries out quickly. They are available in a variety of colors.

 If you make many layers with them, they requirea longer time to dry and can even torn paper. Apart from this drawback, this marker is the perfect choice to keep in your house.

  • Solvent-based markers

Solvent-based markers consist of various solvents like xylene, butyryl acetate, and methyl isobutyl ketone.These markers are waterproof, but they are toxic to health because of the presence of chemical substances. They also have an unpleasant smell, which can cause lung or eye irritation.

You can use them for crafting because they are absorbable on porous and nonporous substances. These markers are not a safe choice to keep in a home,especially when you have children.
